• Deliver flyers and posters to local elementary schools

• Present “Boy Talks” and assemblies at the elementary schools

• Send Roundup flyer to parent email groups• Share event details on Pack Facebook page• Encourage Pack families to invite a friend

Getting the word out!

• Welcome new families as they arrive• Utilize parents or a local Boy Scout troop to run

an outdoor event for the current and prospective Scouts – obstacle course, field games, etc.

• Indoor presentation for parents• Held on a normal den meeting night to

encourage existing Scout and parent attendance • Pack leadership has an opportunity to engage

with new parents and answer any questions

Roundup event format

• Provide handout with cost and event calendar information

• Sign in sheets with name, phone and email. Don’t forget the pens!

• Blank applications for youth and adults• Display items like handbooks, Boys’ Life,

Pinewood Derby cars, patch vests, picture albums

Summer Activities 2015

June 20: Bike Rodeo – 10 am, LCUMCScouts will bring their bikes, learn to do bike safety checks, learn rules for safe bike riding and participate in riding challenges and an obstacle course.

July 11: Family Nature Hike – 10am, Crosswinds Marsh PreserveScouts and their families will hike through the park’s nature trails. Bring your bird watching gear and look for the bald eagles.

Aug 7-8: Family Campout - LCUMCScouts and their families will camp out in the field at the church and enjoy the fun and excitement of a Cub Scout campfire! Saturday morning will be a field day of fun events.

Cub Scout fun doesn’t stop during the summer. It just goes outside. Look for these and other events this summer.
