Numbers A number is a quantity that tells us how many times

a unit is contained in a given quantity. Therefore, it signifies one or more units, or denotes one or more distinct objects of the same kind.

TYPES OF NUMBERS1. UNIT: A unit denotes a single thing as one

pen ,one pencil etc.2. DIGITS: Digit denotes 1,2,3,..........9 and 0.3. EVEVN NUMBERS: Numbers divisible by 2,

e.g.,2,4,6,8,10 etc.

4. ODD NUMBERS: odd numbers are not divisible by 2,e.g., 1,3,5,7,9etc.

5. PRIME NUMBER: A natural number , other than 1, is a prime number if it is divisible by 1 and the number itself, e.g., 1,3,5,etc.
