• Present continuous tense yapısında, I ile am; he/she/it ile is; we/you/they ile are yardımcı fiili kullanılır.

• Fiil –ing takısı alır.


• I’m playing football now.• (Ben şimdi futbol oynuyorum)

• John is waiting for the bus at the bus stop.• (John durakta otobüs bekliyor)


• It’s raining heavily.• (Ağır bir şekilde yağmur yağıyor)


• The children are having a great time in the garden.

• (Çocuklar bahçede iyi vakit geçiriyor)


• We’re listening to music at the moment.• (Biz şu anda müzik dinliyoruz)


Negative (Olumsuz)am/is/are + not + …-ing

• I’m not studying at the moment.• (Şu anda çalışmıyorum)


• She isn’t speaking right now. • (O şu anda konuşmuyor)


• The tourists aren’t trying to find the train station.

• (Turistler tren istasyonunu bulmaya çalışmıyorlar)

USE OF PRESENT CONTINUOUS


1. Konuşma anında olmakta olan eylemler:

I’m reading a book now. (Şimdi kitap okuyorum)

Look! It’s snowing outside. (Bak. Dışarda kar yağıyor)


2. Şu sıralarda olmakta olan eylemler:

• I’m having guitar lessons these days.• (Bu günlerde gitar dersleri alıyorum)

• You are spending too much nowadays.• (Bugünlerde çok harcıyorsun)


3. Şimdiki zamandaki geçici eylemler:

My parents are staying at a hotel. (Anne babam otelde kalıyorlar)

John is going to work by bus this week. His car is under repair.(John bu hafta işe otobüsle gidiyor. Arabası tamirde)


4. Değişmekte veya gelişmekte olan eylemler:

• Life is getting difficult day by day. • (Hayat gün be gün zorlaşıyor)

• Science is becoming more and more complicated.

• (Bilim gittikçe karmaşıklaşıyor)


5. Planladığımız, ayarladığımız yakın gelecekteki eylemler:

• I’m seeing the doctor tomorrow. I have an appoinment.
