THE LOCH NESS

Page 2: Power Point: The Loch Ness

The Loch Ness is in the North of Scotland, in the Scottish Highlands.

Where's the Loch Ness?

Page 3: Power Point: The Loch Ness

The loch Ness is very important in Scotland.

Why?Why?

Page 4: Power Point: The Loch Ness

It is approximately 39 Km long.

It is the second largest Scottish loch by surface area but it is the first one by volume in Britain.

Its deepest point is 230m.

Because...Because...

Page 5: Power Point: The Loch Ness

It is also very important because people say that...

A MONSTERMONSTER lives there!!!

Page 6: Power Point: The Loch Ness

This monster is called Nessie Nessie and people say that it is similar to a dinosaur, a 'plesiosaur'

Plesiosaur

St. Columba St. Columba was the first person who saw Nessie, in 565.

This is the first photo of Nessie. It was taken on the 12th of November 1933 by Hugh Gray .

This is its most famous picture.

It was taken by Robert Kennet Wilson on the 19th of April 1934.

In 1993, Christain Spurling confessed on his death bed that this photo was a fake.It wasn't Nessie. It was a toy submarine and plastic wood.

But other people say they have taken pictures of Nessie too.

Page 11: Power Point: The Loch Ness

There have been some expeditions, sonar studies, submersible investigations... in the Loch Ness to find Nessie.

Page 12: Power Point: The Loch Ness

Some people say they have filmed Nessie.

However, many people say that there isn't a monster in Loch Ness.

Page 14: Power Point: The Loch Ness

The people who don't believe that a monster lives in the loch say...

The pictures and videos are false. If there is only one monster, the one St.

Columba saw 1400 years ago, would have died by now.

If there are many monsters: The loch has not got enough food to feed

a group of large animals. How do they all keep from being seen

when sonar is used?

After these explanations...

Do you think there is a monster in Loch Ness or not?
