Europe is an integrated part of the world. Wars, conflicts and poverty close to the European national and supernational borders gives strong push for migration into Europe.

Europe is a continent that got merged relatively peacefully with the European Union, its Schengen Passport-Free Agreements and memories of wars.

Regional differences in politics, natural and human resources and economic development leads to European streams of migrant. These are traditional (like Roma-people) and more episodal like Polish craftsmen travelling northwest.

The regional differences in Europe also play out within national borders. The ongoing urbanization have different trajectories in different parts of the continent.

Mature and postmodern urban areas in Western Europe are experiencing strengthening urban cores - but Northern and Eastern Europe are experiencing sprawling cities that increase the footprint, worsen transport patterns and destroy agricultural areas.

In the geographical area close to Europe, there are several armed conflicts and poverty.

The majority of migrating people are the persons from outside Europe, outside its EU member states with its Schengen passport agreement.

Mostly, these flows of migrant are combatted with strict border patrols and supernational laws that both prohibit and also allows settlement.
