Monitoring and Reporting Security Breaches and Testing Irregularities

1. All instances of security breaches and testing irregularities must be reported to the School Test Coordinator, and subsequently, the LEA Test Coordinator, immediately.

2. The Form to Report a Testing Irregularity or Security Breach must be completed within two school days of the incident.

3. And remember, you should be prepared to provide a written statement of the incident to your School Test Coordinator should a security breach or testing irregularity occur.

Guidelines for Breaks

17

•During a unit, a classroom may take one “stand-and-stretch” break of up to three minutes at the discretion of the Test Administrator. Unit time should be adjusted by no more than three minutes.

As a reminder during these breaks for computer-based testing, it is recommended that visual blocks be applied to the student’s computer screen (e.g., turn off the monitor, tape folders to the screen); do not have students use computer functions to exit and resume the test. Students should not talk, use electronic devices such as cell phones, play games, continue to interact with the test, or engage in activities that may violate the validity of the test.

•During a unit, “stand-and-stretch” breaks may be permitted at the discretion of the Test Administrator.

Page 19: PARCC Test Administrator Training February 2015

Grades 3-5 iPads– Most K-6 iPads will be used for testing for the three weeks of

each testing period– The testing device by room sheet explains the specifics– All iPads will be locked down (unusable) during testing hours– iPads must be secured and charging in their regular

rooms each night– We will try to allow use of iPads after testing each day – If locking /charging becomes problematic, we may need

to keep them locked down throughout the three weeks of each testing period

Testing Devices Used

19

Page 20: PARCC Test Administrator Training February 2015

Grades 6-8 Laptops/Computer Labs/Chromebooks– All 6-8 laptop carts will be used for testing for the three weeks of

testing (moved between GTMS and elementary schools)– The testing device by room sheet explains the specifics– All laptops, computer labs and chromebooks will be locked down

throughout the three weeks of each testing period– Laptops and chromebooks must be secured and

charging in their carts each night– We will not be able to unlock the laptops, computer lab

machines, or chromebooks during the three weeks of each testing period because it can take many reboots to lock machines down
