Previous presentations focused on post-event surveys. We do 2,000 events and have survey data for about 300 of those. 1Event NPS2011 : 522012: 602013 : 632This is how its grown only difference is that we give staff feedback on what people are saying about their events!2

4reunion[ree-yoon-yuhn]1. the act of uniting again. 3. a gathering of relatives, friends, or associates at regular intervals or after separation2. the state of being united again. This is why people comefor the STATE of being.5
They come for this6
And they come to the place9
To see their dorms and the campus.10
This is what everyone complains about the horrible food.11
A specific activity13
But this is what separates the people who have a wonderful, satisfying time, and those who dont. Its that they didnt connect with people they didnt feel welcome.14reunion[ree-yoon-yuhn]1. the act of uniting again. 3. a gathering of relatives, friends, or associates at regular intervals or after separation2. the state of being united again. They didnt feel this.
So the importance to them that the the food, transportation, etc. wasnt good was disproportionately upsetting b/c they didnt feel special, connected, or united.
So what can we do about that??15Alumni Engagement Survey16
Switching gears, we launched the All alumni engagement survey!!! 1635,000 emails sent5,000 responses~ 14% rate171718
So of the lifetime donors who answered the survey, 77% of them are Promoters, 65% are passives, etc.19Why did you answer that way?20Promoters:Geography: its beautifulCareer / life preparationGreat reputation: World-class, Ivy League, rankings, quality educationLearned a lot
Passives: Geography: its remote and greyDepends on individual: major, mentally healthyIts not a small schoolComparison to other schools via kids, spouses, friends, graduate degree programs
Detractors:Student experience: impersonal, bad faculty, location, specific instance, stressRacism/Political CorrectnessValue for moneyChildren didnt get in
Also interestingDetractors had an average word count when answering this questions of more than twice that of promoters 36 words per answer vs. 15. 23 for passives. But the fact theyre answering the survey means they care opposite of love is not hate, its apathy.2021
Really not a lot of difference among the groups, except for the last 2.This was a select all that apply question.Whats interesting here too is that about half of all non-donors answered that they could be convinced by something and that percentage doesnt matter if theyre Detractors, passives, or promoters.2223
23Addressing root causesContinue to delineate patterns based on Detractor, Passive, PromoterContinue with crowd fundingFollow up survey to Passives around webinar subjectsListen to Detractors & engage as appropriate
