Overview: 7th Cavalry led by George Custer moved into the

Montana Territory June 24th 1876 to destroy the rest of the Sioux.

At night he was fearful that his men had been spotted and decided to surprise attack them the next day.

Believing he had the advantage Custer attacked and on June 25th all 280 soldiers were surrounded and killed including Custer himself.

Largest military defeat at the hands of Native Americans in U.S. history.

Design a museum exhibit highlighting the events of The Battles of Little Bighorn and Wounded Knee. You have equivalent of a 12x12 room to work with. You must include: A plaque at the entrance of the room summarizing what is within

the room 3 artifacts representing said events with a 3-4 sentence

identification and significance of each A map detailing where these events took place A sample newspaper front page from 1890 highlighting the

reason(s) for the battles, 3 main figures involved, the course of the events, and the outcome. You should also write a unique headline and predict whether this event will still be studied in 200 years, and why or why not
