Will Plants Survive when Watered with Different

Liquids?

My experiment is on how plants are affected when watered with different liquids. I had four Viola flower plants.

Plant A- watered with regular water

Plant B- watered with sugar water

Plant C- watered with apple juice

Plant D- watered with orange juice

My hypothesis is that Plant B will grow best.

This was plant A before I started my experiment. It was 12 cm.

This was plant B before I started my experiment. It was 12 cm.

This was plant C before I started my experiment . It was 10 cm.

This was plant D before I started my experiment. It was 11 cm.

Day 2

Day 2

Plant A was surviving well. It was 12 cm.

Plant B was still surviving okay. It was 10 cm.

Day 2 Continued

Plant C was starting to die. It was 9 cm.

Plant D was still doing okay. It was 10 cm.

Day 5

Day 5

Plant A was growing normally. It was 12 cm.

Plant B was starting to droop. It was 9 cm.

Day 5 continued

Plant C was half dead already. It was 7 cm.

Plant D was starting to grow fungus. It was 9 cm.

Day 10 (last day)

Day 10

Plant A was growing normally. It was 12 cm.

Plant B was very droopy. It was 7 cm.

Day 10 continued

Plant C was totally dead. It was 5 cm.

Plant D was mostly dead and smelled terrible. It was 8 cm.

My hypothesis wasn’t correct but I did prove something, that a plant doesn’t survive well when being watered with a substance that contains glucose.
