OpeningThis music video goes against the conventions of its genre as it is poking fun at it. The video starts in black and white following its genres conventions. Some dialogue is then exchanged (something that also can happen in an indie bands video) about how the band feel its feels to ‘poppy’.

As the music begins the video comes into colour and states its title in bright flowers – totally against its conventions. However similar to its conventions the members of the band are then seen playing their instruments.

Camera angles and thought beatsDespite going against its conventions it does still follow some for example the music video uses close ups of the instruments being played, alongside this it follows the thought beat theory.

Colour

Unlike a normal indie music video this music video uses very vibrant colouring, the complete opposite to black and white however it still follows the idea of a close up of the lead singer.

Pop conventionsBecause this video is poking fun at its own genre it looks towards pop video conventions. It uses bright colours and woman in a sexual manner. Close ups and extreme close ups of woman's facial features are also used. All of these are conventions of pop videos and not indie.
