The name chosen was “Amitabh”.

The person on the left is Harivansh Rai “Bachchan” (who took on the suffix Bachchan)

The other person is the Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant who suggested the name “Amitabh” for the new-born.

This book was taken off Bombay University’s curriculum after protests by the Shiv Sena regarding certain other passages that they considered derogatory.
