These are the photos that I gathered for our group, this was done to allow us to see whether Fleetwood was the correct location for our setting in the music video filming session. Each photo will include a description of where we may use this

particular area into our music video and why it is a good photo or what could be done to change it and make it better etc. This will then help when it comes to

deciding the location that will best suit our song and lyrics.

There will be subtitles within this PowerPoint as I visited different areas within Fleetwood, allowing us to see which part of Fleetwood would be best for filming.

Freeport Marina(Fleetwood)

These photos are only to do with the Marina, showing you what this part of Fleetwood has to offer allowing our group to decide whether this area would

be suitable for filming or not.

Here are some of the Marina photos that I took at Fleetwood, the reason why I took these photos of the boats was to just show the typical Marina that Fleetwood has to offer and also show to my group what Fleetwood consists of. These photos show the different types of boats and also the sea; the lighting that we can see on the reflection shows the different sides to the area from the dark areas where no light is shining to the really light areas when the light has been reflected onto the sea. For the first photo I believe this is the best one as you can see the sky is the perfect colour with the white fluffy clouds seen in the photo. This is a really good photo and these could be used in the music video if we do decide to use the Marina.

Showing the Marina of Fleetwood – the boats and the sea; reflection from the sun onto the sea, lighting up the sea making it seem lighter.

Here, are more photos of the boats; these are just really to show you the sky and the sea as they as lovely lighting showing through. The skies in photos one, two, four and six are the best I’ve seen as they are bright with fluffy clouds. As for the sea in photos two and six they are plain to see the reflections and the sheer perfect picture of Freeport Marina. I would definitely consider using these in the filming stage if we plan on using Fleetwood as they would hopefully fit in with the lyrics, and if not we could just use the sky and sea as an establishing shot to introduce the filming.

These are the rest of the Marina photos, showing the reflects on the sea from the sun. These were taken as a possible filming frame as the reflect would be good to include in the music video, or these could be used in the ancillary tasks. My favourite photos are the two above this piece of writing as the first one shows the boats with the walkway and the sea while the second one zooms in a bit and allows you a closer look at the reflect on the water. I would definitely consider using these in our music video if we were to use Fleetwood as our chosen location as these would be perfect images to use and show off.

Fleetwood Itself

These photos are of Fleetwood presenting with the trams, local buildings boats and beach; these photos will show you what this part of Fleetwood has to offer allowing

our group to decide whether this area would be suitable for filming or not.

These are houses that are located in Fleetwood, they are many years old and are still lived in by the general public of Fleetwood. We can see that they are old from the texture on the buildings and the colouring of the bricks have been worn from the many years that they have been around for. The first photo shows the houses, the gates, the vehicles parked outside and the road; this gives you a full shot of the buildings and its surrounding area as you are able to get a feel of what it is like. The second photo is a zoomed in version allowing you to see the detail of the bricks and more of the roof. Both photos are establishing shots and they help to ‘set the scene’ giving you an idea of what Fleetwood appears to have in the version of old buildings.

The trams travel throughout Fleetwood, this is the new trams available in Fleetwood, most of the old trams have been stopped as they are just not fit for usage anymore. However, there are still some around that still work, they are rare but are very distinctive and are worth looking out for as they sum up Fleetwood. As Fleetwood is a place of old buildings and trams showing off the architecture and prolonging the life of the buildings that are available for seeing.

The reason I’ve decided to add these into my photos is plainly because they capture Fleetwood’s scenery and also are interesting how the ferry spins around before coming to a stop. These photo’s allow us to see the sea in more depth, allowing us to view the different ways of capturing the sea and the light as well as giving us an idea of how close to film; to enable us to get the correct back-drop needing to make the filming look better. The Ferry itself is presented in a good condition standing out with the white writing on the red background, this makes it easy to see what the ferry is called. The ferry stands out making it easy to detect where abouts the ferry is located if it is foggy.I probably wouldn’t want to include this in the actual filming as I don’t think it would work well but if we were to take a ride on it and film from it I believe it would look good and hopefully suit with the genre.

Here, we have a Fleetwood ‘Wyre Estuary Ferry’ this takes you from one end of Fleetwood to the other.

This photo was only taken as I thought that the rippling of the sea from where the boat had been looking effective and we could do something like this but using a stone or pebble creating a ripple affect. This would be effective through the filming as hopefully we could sync this together with the lyrics, making a complete

scene with the male character singing the lyrics. I believe this would be a very effective way to display the sea and beach, having him stood on the beach; filming from the side of him then the as he throws the pebble we could follow the journey of the pebble creating the ripple; concentrating our focus on the pebble rather than

just the male character. We could then get a shot of him looking out to the sea watching it disappear and then walking off and just seeing the

back of him. I believe this couldbe very effective in the long

run and would be able to usedifferent camera shots and

angles allowing us to experiment on which one we

believe to show the best angle of the male character and the

ripple affect being caused.

Here, we have two photos that show beautiful scenery from the beach. These are really good photos to show off the Fleetwood beach, as we are able to see the beach itself as well as the sea and the sky. We can see the different textures and colours that the beach, sea and sky each portray. The first photo shows a lighter side to the beach whereas the second photo shows the darker side as the sea and sky appear much darker on this photo. This is useful as it shows us how we can portray the sea and sky and decide what sort of lighting is required for our music video.

Here, we have a building which I have tried to put together to give you the impression of what the building actually looks like. This is why it is slanted and doesn’t look real. However, it allows you to see that the building goes round, creating a circle like shape. This is another old building that has been savoured, this is a working building – ‘North Euston Hotel’.

Page 15: Location ~ Fleetwood

These photos are taken from around Fleetwood, they show the different buildings that are around Fleetwood. The first photo is the ‘Radar Station’ which used to be used for training up students to be able to search for ships and boats. The second photo is the bus stop shelter, in the old days this is what they used to look like, this shows how times have changed but this is still a vocal point in Fleetwood. Two other vocal points are photos three and four these could be used in the filming as they are tall buildings and will hopefully fit in with the lyrics.

Page 16: Location ~ Fleetwood

This would be a perfect place to film as it shows a grass area which the characters could sit or play music – using the guitar and amp instruments; this would be able to show the characters in a long shot or master shot. We could also film from different angles, zooming in and using a hand-held position for the camera we could create something different and unique.

This would be a good area of Fleetwood to film as it is open spaced and also a beautiful view of the sea and the bright blue sky.

Page 17: Location ~ Fleetwood

This is an example of what we could film, with the characters looking out towards the sea and then them looking at the camera and then proceeding onto the next photo, which is shown on the next page.

Example of what we could do with our making of the music video – when filming.

Page 18: Location ~ Fleetwood

This would be a perfect place to film as it is set on a beach, and we can see the beach itself as well as the bright blue sky and the sea this would be a really good filming position to have on the music video as it well help the storyline to be understood. We could use this at the beginning of the video as well as the end, and the end shot could be of the characters holding hand and walking away together – camera shot behind the people.

This would be a perfect area of Fleetwood to film as it is open spaced and also a beautiful view of the sea and the bright blue sky and an amazing view of the beach.
