What is Learning ?

• Learning is less or more changes in behavior.

• Self Learning • Formal Learning

Informal Learning

• Learning may be informal – takes place in family, surrounding, friends, media etc.

• It is self learning, cooperative learning, supervised learning, collaborative learning etc.

• Subjects are not defined.

• It is life oriented.

Formal learning• It takes place in school, college,

classes etc.

• It is mainly guided, supervised, supportive learning.

• Teaching and Evaluation plays important role.

• It is profession oriented. Hence subject, course, tenure are defined.

What is Education ?

• Learning is a part of education system.

• Education is a formal system where learning is facilitated.

• Mostly both words used synonymously.

• Learning starts from birth to death.

• Formal learning starts from Playgroup/KG,(2yrs.) or Primary Education.(5/6yrs.)

• Informal learning is a lifelong process in nature.

• Formal lifelong learning is forceful learning.
