• Most of the mountain we see today is fold mountains.

• They are higher when compared to others.

• Folding of plates may cause to form fold mountain.

• The highest peak in the world is Mount Everest, which is the part of Himalaya mountain.

Block mountain• Block mountain are formed due to

uplift of land forms due to faulting• These mountain have flat top and

steep sides• Black forest in Germany ,and Vosges

in France are best example for it

• Due to the weathering process ,some soft rocks are not very resistance get disintegrated. those resistant part remains, These mountain are called residual mountain

• The Aravalli range and • Nilgiris in India are best examples

Mount Abu• Mount Abu was once called

Arbudanchal is highest peak in Aravalli range!

• Gurushikar is the highest peak in this range

• It is one of the summer resort in Rajasthan

• It is around 1220 mr above MSL• Mount Abu is situated 58 km away from

Palampur, Gujarat
