New York City of the Future

Buildings will cease to be static structures and will start communicating to us through data inflow and outflow. Through multiple sensors constantly monitoring the living and ambient environment within the building, we can harvest and utilize renewable energy efficiently. Buildings will be built with the purpose of enhancing our productivity. The entire house can be controlled from your wristpads and your voice, and this lets you focus on the things which you care about the most. When you are ready to go to work, the house will make sure that the lift is waiting for you. No more waiting for the lift anymore. As a matter of fact, your house knows what you want as soon as you want it. Let loose your mini legion of robots, and let them take care of all the little things.

All of this has been possible because of the strong commitments of our key partners Ikea, Samsung, Microsoft and Abraaj, who tirelessly worked around the clock to provide a comfortable yet sustainable approach to living in a megacity.

smart parking

Driving around for traffic, can cause severe traffic congestion. For that we selected 10 cars from carmakers, who share the same commitment as us, towards protecting the environment and enriching our lives with data. All these cars will run on liquid hydrogen and the only emission will be water. These cars will come equipped with a halogen pad, which can project a moving 3D map of the city and other Points of Interests. The cars will be connected to sensors in parking spaces all around the city, and you can book one by simply asking the car to reserve it for you. With this we can reduce traffic congestion by 30% and spare you from the lap circuits around the block.

puBlic Transportation

We have left the gloominess of the underground and have moved overground the entire subway network of New York. Given the recent breakthrough in magnetic kinetic energy, we can now offer public transportation for free to all residents of New York city. When you need to get on the train, please bear in mind that there will be no more stations. You have to page the train on your wristpad and when the train passes by you, it will use one of its vacuum tube to pick you up.

A certain number of our existing taxi fleet can use teleport abilities, and in order to avail this service, customers have to pay a nominal fee. Taxis can be hailed using your wristpad or can be hailed by the house.

smart roads

The sensors in all the roads are continuously monitoring for possibilities of traffic congestion, impending accidents, blind-spot errors and road conditions in varying weather conditions. Monitoring road systems will inform the car at all times, the best route and this has finally alleviated our dependence on the obsolete GPS system. All the road markings will have photo-luminishing contents, which will allow them to glow at night and eliminate the need for street lights in highways and motorways. Street lights in the city will be replaced by bioluminient plants and trees which will naturally provide lighting for the streets. The amount of light to be generated by one plant is equal to roughly two LED streetlights in 2014.

Walls in the city can become transparent at the slightest touch. With augmented reality technology, you can use walls all around the city to make reservations, get walking directions, check your email, buy tickets for the movies, etc.

other services

Aside from all the aforementioned benefits, the citizens of New York will enjoy a supreme standard of living. All the buildings in a neighborhood will communicate with each other and continuously transfer data on security and energy utilization. Buildings can also lend to each other their spare energy reserves and will provide their occupants with an unprecedented visibility of what is happening in their home, building, apartment, neighborhood and city. Occupants can monitor water and energy usage in real-time and this can help them avoid the tax imposed for unsustainable use of energy, that contribute to greenhouse emissions.

Furthermore, all occupants of New York will have implanted in them a chip, which continuously monitors their health conditions. In the event of a medical emergency, the first response team can constantly track the location and condition of the patient.
