For a journey of discovery to yourself and your future, reserve about an hour of time in a quiet place.

You’ll need a pen and plenty of paper.

The exercise will connect self-reflection to concrete action steps, which will help you create your desired future. Write

down everything that comes to mind in answer to each question, then move on to the next, maintaining flow.

Here we go.

What are the 3 or 4 most important challenges or tasks that your life currently presents?

Write down 3-4 important accomplishments you have achieved or competencies you have

developed in your life.

What 3 or 4 important aspirations, areas of interest, or undeveloped talents would you

like to place more focus on?

What frustrates you the most at the moment?

Page 7: Journey to your future

What are your most vital sources of energy? What do you love?

Page 8: Journey to your future

Over the past couple of days and weeks, what new aspects of yourself have you noticed?

Page 9: Journey to your future

What is holding you back? Describe 2 or 3 recent situations in which fear, cynicism or judgment

prevented you from exploring the situation you were in more deeply.

Imagine three people from your community looking at your life. What are their highest

hopes in regard to your future journey?

Imagine watching yourself from high above. What are you doing? What are you trying to do in this

stage of your professional and personal life?

Imagine watching your community, friends and colleagues from high above. What are you

collectively trying to do?

Imagine looking back from the very last moments of your life. What would you want to be remembered for by the people who live on

after you?

From that future place, look back at your current self. What advice would you give?

Now return to the present and crystallize what it is that you want to create: your vision and

intention for the next 3-5 years. Describe the core elements as concretely as possible.
