The advanced infrastructural set up at the JECRC

Foundation facilitates ‘skill-enabled learning’ for

its students and faculty. The College has

equipped several classrooms with specialized

audio-visual aids for enhancing the teaching-

learning process and faculty members have been

trained to make use of this digital technology.

At the “Smart Classes” for engineering students,

the first in the State, students are taught using

the latest technology of 3D drawings and real life

simulation.

Students get peaceful & safe living environment

in convenient boarding facilities. Transportation

facilities are available round-the-clock to the

students for emergencies and bus facility for

pickup and drop during college hours.

LaboratoriesJECRC Foundation has the most advanced

laboratories for practical training, that support

classroom teaching. With separate laboratories

for each discipline, students are able to gain

hands-on experience using modern testing

equipment and technology.

Library The library functions as the focal point of

academic and research activities for faculty

members, students and staff. The collection

comprises printed publications as well as non-

book collections like audio/video cassettes and

Infrastructure CDROM discs, etc. All Library processes are

automated including bar-coded ID cards and

separate On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)

terminals, to know the status of books at any

time. The central library at JECRC is also a

member of Developing Library Network

(DELNET) for sharing the resource among its

member libraries.

The library is a separate three-storied centrally

accommodate around 350 students at a time. It is

connected to high speed internet and intranet of

JECRC network.

HostelSeparate hostels for boys and girls on the

campuses provide them peaceful safe living

environment along with convenient boarding

facilities amidst green environs. These

residential facilities provide sumptuous meals

and all amenities needed by students living away

from home. Proximity to shopping areas, banking

and medical facilities makes living convenient

and comfortable.

ConveyanceWith its fleet of 20 buses, the Foundation

provides efficient and safe conveyance facilities

at reasonable charges. The transport network

links all parts of Jaipur to the institutes for the

convenience of students and faculty members.

Transportation facilities are available round-the-

clock to the students for emergencies.

Education goes beyond developing one's

knowledge and sharpening his skills. It shapes a

character of strength, a personality of confidence

and an individual of values. It paves way for the

progress and growth of an individual.

JECRC Foundation nurtures the essence of

growth in education and its holistic approach

focuses on overall development of its students.

The Foundation offers courses in several

students from Jaipur Engineering College &

Research Centre, Jaipur register for the

competition.

Anti-raggingCommitteeAs per guidelines issued by Hon'ble Supreme

Court of India, an 'Anti-ragging Committee' has

been formed at JECRC Foundation and this high-

powered committee functions under the

Chairmanship of Mr M L Sharma, Vice-Chairman,

JECRC Foundation. Any student found guilty of

ragging is liable to face severe punishment,

which may include debarring from lectures &

examinations, expulsion, rustication or fine. Any

JECRC will also house India Secretariat of the

University of Alabama.

The Indo US Collaboration for

Engineering Education (IUCEE)The IUCEE Program was conceptualized by over

150 leaders of engineering education and

businesses from US and India in 2007 to create

good quality engineering talent in order to find

solutions to the global challenges facing

humanity such as energy, environment, health

and communications.

IUCEE is aiming to build a solid base for

engineering education and research by

strengthening the four pillars of education:

! learner-centric teaching

! research excellence

! outcomes based quality supported by

accreditation

! innovation and entrepreneurship

IUCEE incorporated JECRC as the first college

from Rajasthan under its consortium colleges.

JECRC also sponsors its faculty to attend FLIs

organized in other consortium colleges. Under

IUCEE students and faculties are also benefited

by webinars conducted by experts from United

States.

The JECRC Foundation continuously explores

avenues for nurturing the innate potential of its

students. The students are encouraged to

participate and compete in Industry offered

courses and competitions. In addition, students

can earn certifications offered by international

organizations, including IBM, Microsoft, Sun,

Cisco, etc. The Foundation has gone a step

further and has signed an MOU with a highly

reputed University of Alabama System (UAS) that

has campuses in Birmingham, Huntsville and

Tuscaloosa in the US.

In addition to this many clubs and societies have

been formed at JECRC Foundation by the

students only to conduct various activities round

the year for development of various faculties and

enrichment of their student lives. At present

around 800 students are active members of

these clubs and almost all the students of the

Foundation are associated with it in one or the

other way.

Rajasthan because of its interdisciplinary

research activities. It is for the first time that such

recognition is being given by State DST to any

educational institute.

A three year research project on "Scientific

Validation and Authentication of Ethno-Medicinal

Treasure of Rajasthan and in situ conservation of

Endangered flora" (2008-2012) has been

approved by the expert committee of DST,

Government of Rajasthan. The Centre is currently

preparing ethno-medicinal herbarium, its

scientific validation, a live documentary, marker

generation and fingerprints; and studying various

bio-efficacious aspects including in situ

conversation of tribal treasure of Rajasthan.

Under the Auspices of DST the group has

published 15 research articles and three

international books as an outcome of the work.

Women Scientists Scheme

(WOS)The WOS has been evolved by the Department of

Science and Technology for providing

opportunities to women scientists and

technologists. Under this scheme, women

scientists are being encouraged to pursue

research in frontier areas of science and

engineering, on problems of societal relevance

and to take up S&T-based internship followed by

self-employment.

Research projects of four women scientists of

JECRC Foundation have been awarded

Career Guidance and CounsellingJECRC Foundation has a centralised Human

Resource Division that maintains an exhaustive

roster of reputed organisations, through which

students are posted for their summer training

and placements after graduation. The division

also interacts with industry experts & managers

from time-to-time in order to gauge industry

expectations, and suggest vital inputs to design a

need-based academic curriculum.

! A Tutor-Guardian counselling programme to

monitor the performance of students and

advise them on appropriate action plans.

! Professional assistance given to students in

identification of career aptitude and

development.

! Training workshops conducted to hone

interview skills and improve presentation in

group discussions.

! Regular industry observation is an essential

part of our 'Classroom without Walls' learning

strategy. Student groups are encouraged to

enrich their practical learning by undertaking

industry visits and one-to-one interaction with

industry leaders.

TrainingThe Foundation keenly supports summer training

programmes. It encourages students to pursue

training with its industry partners, in order to

prepare them to face real-life situations and

challenges. The Foundation maintains constant

interaction with industry managers during the

training period so that the students are able to

receive meaningful & practical exposure. On

completion of their training, students prepare

and present a detailed project report.

The buildings and landscapes of the JECRC

University are dedicated to implement sustainable

practices that are environment friendly, through

various efforts that include energy efficiency,

waste reduction, and improved recycling. The

effective integrated design of each building

leverages synergies among building components,

resulting in reduced lifecycle costs of the project.

The buildings are more energy efficient with

exposed brick construction throughout the

campus, large open spaces for adequate light and

fresh air and serene surroundings for healthier

working and learning environment. The University

has also applied for Green Campus certification

and will soon become a LEED certified Campus.

The University will start its session in July 2012

with undergraduate and post-graduate courses in

multiple streams — engineering, applied

sciences, management, humanities, etc. The

university also offers diplomas as well as doctoral

programmes.
