 Youth  work  (молодежная  работа,  Jugendarbeit,  darbas  su  jaunimu)  

 Youth  work  belongs  both  to  the  social  welfare  and  to  the  educational  system  

 Youth  work  deals  with  unemployment,  educational  failure,  marginalisation  and  inclusion

  European  Commission  promotes  learning  mobility  of  young  people  in  all  different  learning  contexts

  Learning  mobility  should  be  organised  and  linked  to  speciIic  learning  outcomes    

  Focuses  on  physical  mobility,  while  recognising  also  the  value  of  virtual  mobility  

 Teachers,  trainers,  youth  workers  and  managers  have  a  key  role  to  play  in  encouraging  and  promoting  mobility

  Intercultural  education  a  process  of  social  education  aimed  at  promoting  a  positive  relationship  between  people  and  groups  from  different  cultural  backgrounds  

 Ultimate  goal  of  intercultural  education  is  peaceful  living  in  the  intercultural  societies  

  Intercultural  education  asks  to  acknowledge  and  respect  cultural  differences  between  individuals

Stages  of  intercultural  education  are:  

  To  imagine  yourself  from  the  outside  

  To  understand  the  world  we  live  in  

  To  be  acquainted  with  other  realities  

  To  see  difference  positively  

  To  favour  positive  attitudes,  values  and  behaviour

  Selection  should  be  fair  and  transparent  

  Sending  and  receiving  institutions  need  to  cooperate  in  matching  participants  

  Preparing  participants  properly  in  terms  of  linguistic  skills  and  intercultural  competence  

 Mobility  period  Iitting  with  the  personal  learning  pathways,  skills  and  motivation

  Reaching  out  to  groups  who  tend  to  be  excluded  from  mobility  opportunities    

  Provide  educational  and  mentoring  support  for  participants    

  Record,  recognise  and  validate  periods  of  learning  mobility  in  an  appropriate  way  

  Virtual  mobility  is  often  a  catalyst  for  embarking  on  a  period  of  physical  mobility
