Black Future Month Year-round

Let’s recap. Black Future Month was created

by three young women and a major media

outlet. These three women are also the

Founders of Black Lives Matter. With Black

Future Month, we think about the present and

what we look like in the future. Black Future

Month is only in its second year, but what we

do know is that Black Future leaders are

empowered, educated, and entrepreneurial.

So What’s Next?

Hopefully you have completed some of the

previous lessons in this course. If not, take

time to talk about Black Future leaders with

your child and think about your own

parenting skills. How are you developing a

Black Future leader(s) in your home? In this

last lesson, let’s compare Black Future

leadership qualities to America’s Future.

REFLECT

As you can see, Black Future leaders are needed and have plenty of

opportunities in America’s future. But the time to reflect on this is not just a

monthly occasion. These qualities require nurturing year around. So we

encourage parents to make every month, a Black Future month.
