Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) and Genuine Student (GS)
• Australian High Commission (AHC) on the warpath and looking carefully at GTE and GS, particularly in Nth India and Nepal.
• Greater scrutiny of visa applications to maximise better quality students.
• In response UTAS has developed application requirements and introduced GTE pre screening prior to application assessment.
Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Pre Screening
• Pre screening form for India and Nepal online: http://www.utas.net.au/pre-application-assessment/
• Complete and lodge form online and lodge the application for enrolment and supporting documents through: [email protected]
• Assessment within 2-3 days. Focus on travel/visa history, English, study gaps, source of funds, spouse, rationale for study.
Application Requirements
For UG - • Minimum 55 % for Foundation • ~ 60% for direct Bachelors (see Julia’s presentatn).• IELTS of 6 overall and no module less than 5.5.• In addition to above IELTS no more than ten weeks
ELICOS.• No married applicants• Maximum age for foundation is 21• Relevancy in work experience and career
progression is important.
Application Requirements
For PG - • Section 1 - minimum 55%• Section 2 - 60% • Section 3 – 70%• IELTS of 6 overall, no module less than 6.0• In addition to above IELTS, no more than ten weeks
ELICOS (i.e. programs requiring 6.5 and above).• Married applicants on a case by case basis, not < 12
months. Dependents profile is important.• Relevancy in work experience and career progression
is important.
