How it works

● Open to all families in the Junior School● New theme each year, for example:

○ Favourite Authors to Read Aloud○ “Read Around the World”○ Exploring Genres

● Books must be checked out by an adult (parent or nanny)

● Families must read six books in six weeks

Promotion

● Entry card sent home to families● Launch during Fully Booked week

○ “Tea and Topics” for parents○ Announcement during Fully Booked

assembly for students● Special display in the Junior Library● Assembly and certificate for all who

complete the Challenge

Keeping track

● Library staff use a shared Google Sheet

● Families get a souvenir Reading Passport

Does it work?

● More than 150 families participated, approx. 30% of the Jr. School

● Parents and nannies checked out more than 2500 books

● 90+% completion rate
