INTRODUCTION Extra curricular activities are those that fall outside the

normal curriculum of school or university education, performed by students.

A study conducted by surveying school-age students in the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health revealed that 70% of adolescents are involved in some form of extracurricular activities.

Other studies have shown that being involved in extra curricular activities reduces chance of committing criminal offence, also reduce chances of getting depressed and makes us feel happy.

It include painting, planting , dance , music, sports, art, cooking and many more…..

IMPORTANCE

These activities help us developing our talent, interest and passions.

It also teach us practical skills like time management.

Trying something different may bring us in contact with people we don’t know .

We will get to explore our physical, creative, social and career interest due to these activities.

These activities make us feel refresh and bring us out from the boring life and make us feel alive once again.

These make the person realize of his qualities, and figure out interest.

Academic subjects and extra curricular activities activities complement each other and develop a well-round ,socially skilled and healthier student.

Many student use their skills in extra curricular activities like athletics or sports to gain scholarship to various universities.

It makes us feel motivated.

Students who are involved in extra curricular activity improves their academics grades as well ,this may be due to motivation , self confident and better time management.

Being physically active from a young age can have numerous health benefits at a later age .

It improves stamina and mental alertness.We achieve practical experience while participating

in these activities .
