Exploring Genre Conventions

Weapon – very stereotypical of an action adventure film , connotes there is going to be a fight/ conflict scene A car – this is a fast car this suggests

that there will be car chase – this is stereotypically part of a action adventure film

Main character – Daniel Craig is part of the star system he is well known for being in the bond films , he is the protagonist in the film – we can clearly see him on the cover this connotes his importance in the film, it also shows his fans he is part of the film

Silhouette – this shows a scene from the film possibly the main location of the car chase scene , it is also a silhouette of the iconic bond girl in every film – however she is less recognisable then the main character

Logo – even from something as small as the logo you can tell what genre the film – this is good for advertising as the audience can clearly identify this

Colour scheme – this symbolises how sleek and smart the film is , this gives the secret agent sort of feel – suggesting the genre

Costumes – they are very smart this connotes the genre of the film and makes the characters seem serious and mysterious
