  • 3. Magnetism is the power that a magnet have. Magnetism makes force of attraction and repulsion. Magnets can attract to certain objects like. IRON Magnets were origanly from a magnetite or a lodestone. N There is many I different type of C magnets. The K most common magnet is a E bar magnet or a horse-shoe magnet. L STEEL C O B A L T
  • 4. A magnet has to sides called the north pole and the south pole. If we put the magnets to the same side like North&North or South&South they would repel also known as trying to be apart with each other. However, if we put the magnet North&South, they would be attracted to each other and stick together. How do magnets work?
  • 5. What is Electricity?
  • 6. Electricity is a source of energy that is very important toward our lives. A proton and a neutron will always stick together. An electron flow around the proton and the neutron. This makes an atom. Electricity is formed by the movement of electrons.
  • 7. How does Electricity Work? Electricity flows in conductor which mean objects that electricity easily flow on like copper. If you plug in a wire to a socket, electricity will flow through the wire and light up your room, etc...
  • 8. How are Electricity & Magnetism Connected? To make a nail magnetic, use a battery and connect to a wire. Then, we wrap the wire to the nail. After a few minutes, the nail will be magnetic for a few second. Making an object magnetic for a few seconds or a minute is called temporary magnet. We can use electricity to make an object magnetic.
  • 9. What are some Practical uses of Electricity & Magnetism? A every day object, that use Electricity & Magnetism are MRI, Headphone, Electric Motor, Maglev Train. Cars and light bulb use Electricity. Compass and Credit Cards have little Magnets.
  • 10. Vocabulary Generator Magnetic Field A place where electricity is made from energy. The space around a magnetic material.
  • 11. Vocabulary Force Current When a object push or pulls another object. A wire connected to batteries or switch, etc that electricity can flow through. This is a schematic drawing of a current.
  • 12. Vocabulary Static Electricity An electric charged electricity. This is mostly made by friction. For example thunder, electric shock is static electricity.
