TECHNOLOGY SPACE

New Edtech Products and Programs

US edtech sector has witnessed emergence of several new edtech

products and platforms in Q3–2014.

Digital PR agency Zeno group — a DJE Holdings company — has launched

an e-learning training program for other PR agencies and marketers to

improve their digital and social media skills. The program — Asia Digital

Essentials Program — provides several courses on social media and digital

marketing.

The course fee range from US$27 per month to US$67 per month,

depending on the features. Students taking the course are required to

study at least six hours of curriculum and pass a test before getting a

certificate from for a particular skill.

US EDUCATION STATISTICS

Education demographics in the US

US — as per the National Center for Educational Statistics — had 98,328

public schools and 30,861 private schools, and 2,011 public higher

education institutions, and 5,233 private higher education institutions, as

of 2012.

There are an estimated 77.63 million people enrolled in various

educational institutions across the US, in 2014. Out of these,

approximately 55.59 million (71.6%), are enrolled in K–12 schools, while

approximately 22.04 million (28.4%) are enrolled in postsecondary

educational programs.
