TITLE & QUALIFICATIONS

Job Title: Writer/Producer

 Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience and

an impressive reel demonstrating a range of creative executions.

Must be able to understand brand strategy and be able to implement

that strategy with innovative ideas. Strong hands-on experience in

writing and producing on-air promotion spots within a cable or

broadcast environment. Must be a strong writer and team player.

My dream job is to write television shows for network television.

Could you imagine meeting new people and being able to say, “Hi

my name is Kandace Holt and I am a writer for A&E, and I write

scripts and produce popular television shows.” It would absolutely

be amazing to be able to achieve that in a lifetime.

I would not even mind relocating to The UK and work on the

writing team for Doctor Who. I would have to work my way up the

ladder but you have to do that in any job choice. I would love in

the next five years to land my dream job as a Television Writer. I

would start with an entry-level position as an Creative

Development Internship for Digital Media.

The primary job for a Development Intern is to write pitches,

treatments, and scripts for short-form digital programming in

support of the television programming for the company. I would

love to intern for Walt Disney Company or HBO studios writing

for them. I would have to start out with an internship and work my

way up to Television Writer/Producer.

I plan on throughout my college days to maintain a high enough

GPA to get an internship, and then I would just work my way up at

whichever company I am hired by.

I would make sure that my work was flawless, pristine, and just

fantastic in everything that I was working on. If they wanted me to

work all night well then I would be stocking up on caffeine and

make sure that I got done what they wanted done. If I were

pitching a new show then it would be the best pitch ever.

I am looking forward to my journey to achieve my goals of

becoming a Writer/Producer for popular television shows locally or

even internationally. It’s going to be hard work but it will be worth

it in the long haul.
