In the 50s, families were portrayed as more unified and positive. In this time it seemed as a utopian society where everything was going positive and great for family life and values.

The ideal wife had a busy life. She spent the whole day dressed up (in heels and a dress) to impress. They had to cook, clean, c, watch the kids, shop for food, care for her hubby, and had to pretend as if she like it!

This is what the ideal family looked like in the 1950’s. They often spent time together always ate together and cared for each other greatly. They are much different from the families of our time.

Men were expected to have a higher education than women and attended college. At this time women were considered not fit enough for higher education.

In the 1950’s little kids were more respectful than the modern children we have today. They said their prayers in church , they actually did what they were told and respected their elders greatly. They weren’t near as many bad influences as we are today.

They were the working man. They were strict but hice with their kids. They were there to provide for the family and teach the kids morals and lessons needed for life.
