This engaging and interactive elearning course enables carers to understand what dementia is, the different forms of dementia and how others can have an impact on the individual with dementia. Mapping to the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care

MindLeaders and EDI have worked in partnership to map and accredit the course against the EDI Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Completion of the elearning modules enables learners to build their knowledge of the sector against the requirements of the qualification, and progress towards the full EDI Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. EDI is accredited by the UK regulatory authorities to award over 370 vocational qualifications and quality assure over 400 training programmes.

Mapping to the National Occupational Standards

The “Dementia Awareness” and “Understand and implement a person centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia” units have been developed by Skills for Care and Development in partnership with Awarding Organisations. They provide a key progression route between education and employment (or further training leading to employment). They are directly relevant to the needs of employers and relate to the National Occupational Standards developed by Skills for Care and Development.
