About Singapore Turkey Friendship Association

Founded in 1992 by Mrs Gladys Chee and friends.

Fostering Friendship between peoples of Singapore and Turkey.

Membership is open to all nationalities.

Registered under Singapore Registry of Societies and governed based on ROS

requirements.

Partners with local NGO’s and Peoples Association. Represents Turkish

population in Singapore at multicultural events.

Community Gatherings- Monthly Chill-out, Turkish breakfast, Special Turkish Lunch

- Annual Gala Dinner, Chinese New Year Lunch

Cultural Events- Representing Turkey with State Dance Assembly at Chingay Festival

- Big Jubilee walk with Prime Minister of Singapore

- Indian Ponggol Rice festival at Bukit Batok (recorded in the Singapore book of records)

- Representing Turkish people at community events( Marina Barrage, Teck Ghee)

Social Responsibility- Iftar meals distribution during Ramadan

- Monthly breakfast service to elderly and needy residences of Bukit Merah

Singapore SlingThe Singapore Sling is a gin based cocktail. This long drink was

developed sometime before 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese

bartender working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, Singapore.

MerlionSymbol of Singapore. Mystical half-fish and half-lion

animal, Merlion resides at the waterfront Merlion Park.
