CTJT Copywriting coursework by Tamara Bloom

A million dollar Babe

Gemma was walking along the High street, checking her reflection in the shop windows. A big smile

lighted up her face. She was ready for her big night. Her first Valentine dinner with Jack…

OK. It was only a haircut, but it gave back Gemma the confidence she needed. After her Sands

experience, she felt good and attractive.

The minute she pushed the door of the Sands (Correct) Salon, she felt special. She did not have to wait

ages. Someone came up to welcome her, took her coat off and lead her to the Wash House.

She booked in for a session in the Wash House. It is in the back of the salon where clients can enjoy a

relaxing session of head and neck massage and hair treatment with Paul Mitchell products (correct).

Gemma had 10% off as she had been recommended by a friend.

Then she went to the front of the salon for a haircut and blow dry while enjoying some coffee and

pastry.

Annalise (correct), her hairdresser, was extremely friendly and she listened to what Gemma wanted.

The Wella (correct) products used smelt divine.

Gemma could not resist and bought some shampoo to take back home so she could enjoy the Sands

(correct) experience at home.

Next time Gemma will treat herself with some beauty therapy at the salon, maybe a full body spray

tan, or she’ll have her nails done if not a body massage.

They also had gift vouchers that Gemma bought for her Mum’s birthday.

While Gemma had her hair done Sue, one of the directors, came a few times to check that everything

was fine and to see if Gemma was happy.

Gemma was extremely impressed by the attention she received in the Salon. “It made me feel like I

was some celebrity or at least someone special,” Gemma said. Little did she know that at Sands

(correct), everyone is unique. Each client is treated with a warm welcome by friendly staff.

The salon belongs to two old friends, Sue and Sarah, both 42, who used to go to school together. One

of them worked in a posh and cold salon where some clients felt intimidated to walk in. At Sands

(correct), the staff make sure that everyone is welcomed properly and each client feels important and

at home.
