The GenreThe Genre I have chosen is acoustic pop. Generally, there is no set style of clothing that these artists like to wear. Everything is very casual and very normal, which makes appear very casual and normal as if they are just normal people.

The research I have done shows that if you look at artists like Ed Sheeran or Jason Mraz, most of what they wear is accessible to the audience, which means no overly expensive branded clothes or items of jewelry which make them seem flashy or like they are showing off, even though it is obvious they are wealthy.

Because there is no styling elements to go with the genre it is easier to choose the costumes each character in the video will, but that also depends on the choice of song.

Ed Sheeran General Costume

The way in which Ed Sheeran presents himself at live gigs or even broadcasted events shows he has a sort of carefree attitude with how he is seen, and instead prefers the way he is heard in his music. As said before the majority of what he wears looks like it would be available to the audience and even affordable for them.

Because he is so casual in what he wears it almost feels like he doesn’t take himself too seriously all of the time, compared to other artists who wouldn’t want to be seen in anything other than the most expensive brands of clothing just so they can show off and make themselves look big.

Costume IdeasThe style of clothing worn by existing artists in this genre gives me a clear idea of the type of costume that should appear in my music video. The costumes should involve casual everyday clothes to make the people in the video seem like normal people, so shirts, jeans, hoodies and jackets and trainers.

Casual clothing makes the person in the video more relatable to the audience. This is because the style of clothing will be similar and members of the audience be able to sympathize with only being able to afford this type clothing, which isn’t expensive or branded up.

This is not a collection of clothing which will appear in the final video but more of an indication of the style which can be expected.
