Program Highlight Hospitality Management – Hotel, Restaurant & ResortThe hospitality industry offers many rewarding career opportunities. Each position requires active personalities, specific technical and social skills, specialized knowledge and a drive for success. Due to the rapid growth within the industry, opportunities to advance occur faster than with almost any other career. The Hospitality Management Program offers a curriculum which prepares students to enter the hospitality industry, leading to supervisory or managerial position in hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants and other institutions.

Students have many opportunities to train with actual on-the-job work in a variety of positions. They also have the opportunity to participate in a two-week field placement in another country.

Program Highlight Tourism & Travel - Adventure & EcotourismTourism is Canada’s fastest growing industry. This program prepares students to enter the tourism and travel field, working in inbound or outbound tourism services.

The program at Confederation College is the only program in Ontario that combines both tourism and travel with adventure and ecotourism.

Students that are interested in creating commercials, music videos, documentaries, news and sports or who have a script idea that is waiting to be developed, will find the Broadcasting program to be an excellent choice to start their career.

Students have a chance to try it all - studio, location and mobile production, camera work and editing, announcing, journalism, photography, production and scripting, writing and more. The 4-week internship at the end of the second year allows students to gain valuable work experience that will help to land their first job.

Program Highlight - InstrumentationInstrumentation technicians commission, install, calibrate, maintain and repair complex measurement and control systems used in a variety of process control applications. This program provides a solid foundation in both theory and practice, utilizing hands-on experience in a modern, well-equipped laboratory designed to emulate common control systems found in industry.

Program Highlight - Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering TechnologyThis program is delivered in the state-of-the-art Aviation

Centre of Excellence located next to the Thunder Bay International Airport. There are excellent job prospects upon graduation. In the spring of 2007 the Program Coordinator was contacted by at least 8 different major companies looking for AMET graduates.

Salaries upon graduation typically start at a minimum of $40,000 per year. Some summer students have recently been paid at a $50,000 per year rate.

Program Highlight - International Business & TradeThis graduate certificate program is an ideal choice for graduates of any business diploma or degree program. It prepares graduates for the demands of working in a global marketplace. The program is linked to a professional body and includes an eight-week work placement.

Students who enter the International Business and Trade program in September 2011 and successfully graduate, will be accepted into the Human Resources Management graduate certificate program in September 2012. Graduates of both programs will then be eligible to apply for a 2-3 year post graduate work permit.

Student Partnership ProgramConfederation College is a participant.

Study permit processing has become much faster and more streamlined.

Please follow the instructions on the SPP checklist carefully and submit all required documents.

Do not submit applications until one-week after the up-front medical (UFM) examination has been completed.

Ensure the loan documents are from an approved chartered bank (on the list provided by Canadian Immigration office).

It is very important not to include any extra documents with the application, even if you think it will make the application stronger.
