LOCATION OF DEBRECEN

Debrecen is the capital of Hajdú-Bihar county.

Debrecen is situated in the north-east part of Hungary. The distance between Debrecen and Budapest is 226 kilometers.

Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary with more than 220,000 people.

THE GREAT CHURCH

Built between 1805 and 1820, the Great Church is the symbol of Debrecen and Hungarian Reformation. The dethronement of the Habsburgs' was declared here on the 14th April 1849. 

Building work started under the supervision of architect Mihály Péchy, who also designed the Reformed College here.

This beautiful building stands next to our school.

THE CÍVIS GRAND HOTEL ARANYBIKA

It is located in the heart of Debrecen.

The present building was built in 1915 according to the design of Alfréd Hajós, Hungary's first Olympic Champion.

THE UNIVERSITY OF DEBRECEN

Great number of writers, scientists and politicians received their education at the university.

The University was officially inaugurated on October 23, 1918 and at that time consisted of

four faculties: Arts, Science, Theology and Medicine.

THE SPA OF DEBRECEN

The Spa of the Big Forest opened in 1960.

There are many thermal pools an area of 11 000 m2. .

There is also an indoor swimming pool and sauna with sun beds. The temperature of the water in the pools

ranges from 26 to 38°C.

The imposing spa welcomes visitors seeking treatment or rest from May till September.

It is located in the heart of the Big Forest of Debrecen, under a dome of

66-meter diameter.

The abundance of tropical plants and adventure elements of this special facility makes summer out of every

day of the year.

The water paradise means full-day relaxation and entertainment for

each generation.
