Bolivian culture is full of traditions and interesting and unusual customs . This is because the Bolivian customs come from a variety of sources, including the ancient indigenous groups , the Catholic Spaniards and traditional Andean

culture .

TYPICAL MEALS• At events like weddings, baptisms or funerals , to offer

a lot of food is very important. On the Day of the Dead it´s the Bolivian tradition to offer food to the dead, as it is believed that they return home on that day.

RECIPEThe tamal is corn dough usually stuffed with meat, vegetables and chilies , wrapped in leaves of corn cobs or banana. It can be sweet or savory but in my opinion it is richer salty. • INGREDIENTS• 1 kg.peeled corn 1 tomato

• 2 egg yolks 3 tablespoons of ground red pepper • d2 tablespoons sugar 2 boiled eggs, chopped• 2 egg whites 1/4 cup raisins• 1/4 kg . of roast pork baked 1/2 teaspoon pepper• 1/4 . teaspoon cumin Oil• 1/4 kg . Beef jerky 2 onions , finely chopped

PREPARATION•  

Soak the corn in cold water for 4 hours , then cook in boiling water until it bursts . Grind the corn , add egg yolks, sugar and salt. Form a soft dough .Chop pork . On a cold pan with oil cook onion until transparent , season with salt , pepper and cumin . Add the dried meat , when cooked add the pork ( optional) and chopped tomatoes , simmer until tomatoes turn to sauce , then add the red pepper and half a cup of water. Simmer until almost dry , incorporate raisins and boiled eggs. Take a piece of dough , flatten it in your hand , put 2 tablespoons of filling and cover with another piece of dough . Once the tamales are ready , brush with egg white . Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutesAnd we have ...
