What is a blog• Blog is short for weblog • It’s a personal and public journal or diary on the web• A way for kids to connect to their global peers• It’s the wave of the future and a new way to

• Blogging began in the mid 1990’s.
• It is not clear who the very first blogger was.
• The art of blogging took hold of the technological world in 1999.
• The very first blogs were Internet web tours.
• Initially thought of as diaries or online journals, blogs have evolved into the latest web content.

Communication• Blogging is a connection to the world.
There are all types of blogs:
– Personal Blog - shares your thoughts and ideas with the world.
– Business Blog - a way to keep in touch with customers, suppliers, or prospective customers.
– Photo Blog - online photo album to share photos with family and friends.
– Family Blog - helps family stay in touch by posting family news.
– Community Blog - team schedules, meeting updates, and information for community members.
