Undergraduate Studies ePortfolio
Lisa GreenPsychology, 2010
Personal Statement
My educational goal has been to achieve a degree in psychology and eventually pursue my masters in social psychology. My interest in psychology originated from my Mother. A Social Worker, she never ceased to emphasize the value of a good education to her four daughters.
While enlisted in the U.S. Navy, I received my Associate of Arts degree from Florida Community College through their distance learning program. Because of the significant time in my life in which I received my degree; After returning to college to continue my education, I was forced to deal with the physical and emotional strains of the passing of my father.
That degree is an acknowledgement of not only my achievement of an Associate of Arts degree but also of what I am capable of
accomplishing in the face of adversity.
Personal Statement
Currently, I am receiving sound academic trainings from my Professors at Argosy University. While enrolled in the undergraduate psychology program, I am gaining the necessary qualifications for pursuing a more advanced program of psychology on the master’s level.
Upon graduation, my career objective is to enroll into graduate school and complete my masters degree in social psychology. While working on that I plan to obtain a position as Patient Advocate for female veterans at the Atlanta V.A. Medical Center.

My Future in Learning
Lifelong learning is something I do not think I will be able to stop. I don’t set out to do it, I just find myself curious about many things. I think that educators are most effective when they make their students responsible for their own learning, and support their interests and directions. I am really into the alternative school programs that are student-directed. They support the student’s own creative initiatives and the teachers are willing to wait for the student to assume autonomy. The students usually respond by rising to new levels of competence.
My own college level learning was transformed while attending Argosy University because I felt it was a non-competitive school. My on-site classrooms were small and my Professors really took the time out to make sure I gained the knowledge of the course material at my own pace. And I greatly appreciate that. My lifelong learning goal is to keep elevating my level of knowledge in the psychology field.
