HOME INVASION (PSYCHOLOGICAL/KILLER)

• I have chosen to base my idea off this subgenre because I feel it’s a far more relatable subgenre for the everyday person which heightens the fear factor. I also feel it’s a very underrated horror subgenre.

CONVENTIONS

• Introduced to main characters quickly, problems occur right after invasion happens.

• The invading antagonist dies at the end and the family resumes their life or begins a new one.

• There is usually quite a lot of violence and blood/gore.• The protagonists are usually a family or group of friends• Antagonist is usually masked or fully clothed to mask identity

HOW WILL I MEET CONVENTIONS

• Ill meet the convention that things only get bad after the invasion actually happens.

• The convention of the antagonists identity will be upheld by keeping them covered up in black

• How it’ll be different.

• Ill be keeping it unique by never actually showing the antagonist entering the house or even moving at all

• It’ll also only use 2 actors which I have not seen often

NARRATIVE ENIGMAS

• Who is the protagonist • Why has the antagonist chosen them to victimize• How did the antagonist know where their victim lives• How did get to the house first and hide before the victim• who is the antagonist and why are they doing what they’re

doing

MAIN TARGETS

• I want to really show the locks on the final scene to show the audience how the protagonist has accidentally locked themselves in with the protagonist.

• Another target is to keep the protagonist as covered as possible in black clothing to keep it a mystery.

• Getting the right street is important to the setting as I want it to be appropriate (lighting, size, area)

• Capturing the protagonists fear and then their feeling of relief would be very good
