While Interning with a group of young & enterprising engineers , i was made responsible for the research of a cheap yet efficient alternative for an air cooler. Something which could be easy to use, portable, price and energy efficient and effective.After a lot of research and brain storming sessions we soon had an evaporative air cooler made from junked oil canisters. It worked very well reducing temperature to about 25 degrees Celsius when the outside temperature was 40 to 45 degrees . The small vendors and shop keepers loved it and it was a boon for the construction site workers We soon sold about 150 of those for as less as $30 each We called it “Sab Ka AC “ ( The common man’s AC)
