16. FAMOUS PEOPLE THAT DIED BECAUSE OF HEROIN Janis Joplin The
official cause of death was an overdose of heroin, possibly
compounded by alcohol. The manager believes that Joplin had
accidentally been given heroin that was much more potent than
normal, as several of her dealer's other customers also overdosed
that week.
17. DEE DEE RAMONE An autopsy established heroin overdose as
the official cause of death. He had been booked to play a show at
the Majestic Ventura Theater, which ended up being a memorial show
in his honor.
18. JIM MORRISON Morrison had died of a heroin overdose, having
inhaled what he believed to be cocaine.
19. SID VICIOUS At the dinner gathering, his mother (who was
once a registered addict herself) had some heroin delivered by her
boyfriend. Vicious overdosed at midnight.
