4)I personally would not choose a separate actress for the role of the artist because your idea shows that the artist is expressing how she feels in the video.

1) It all depends on the genre you are choosing to use for the video. And as you are doing the indie-folk genre, I think performance is vital, and narrative will be useful to fill in the spaces between the artist lip-syncing.

2) I would expect to see a boy and a girl, worrying about their relationship going too fast. In terms of the performance aspect of the video, I’d expect to see lip-syncing from the artist, also perhaps playing the guitar.

3) I think this is a very good idea for the narrative side of the video, because it fits in very well with the lyrics. It shows how the boy loves his girlfriend, and she obviously does like him a lot, but she just doesn’t want to rush into anything too serious.

4) I am glad you have added the performance into the video, and think this is a very good way of making the video look realistic, as long as you get the lip-syncing in time with the words!

Isabelle, 171) I prefer to see narrative in music videos, but as you are doing the indie-folk genre, I know that they

use performance a lot in their videos. I think a mix of both will be appealing for the audience, as it has a variety of things going on.

2) I would expect to see a relationship, possibly with an argument because one of them does not love the other. You said you were doing performance too, so I’d expect to see good lip-syncing.

3) I think this fits in with the song, because it shows a relationship that is possibly going too fast, but they still want to be together. I think that if you were doing this, you’d need to try and make it obvious that he tells her that he loves her, so the audience does not get confused if they start arguing.

4) I am undecided on whether I’d use the same actress for the artist role as well as the relationship role. I understand why you want to, because like you said it shows how she is displaying her experience she has had with her boyfriend, however I feel like it could potentially look very confusing. In addition to this, it may look like you haven’t found anyone else to actually be in the video. But like I said, if done properly and the shots look good, what you’ve wanted to portray could come off really well.

1) I like performance videos, as I like to see the artist actually singing. However, I think adding narrative to this is a good way of making sure that people know what the song is about.

2) As I had not heard the song before, I had to listen to it. I think that due to the lyrics mentioning love, I would expect to see a couple. I’d also expect to see some kind of tension between the couple due to one of them not actually loving the other.

3) I like the fact you want to blur between the actress and the artist – as you want to have the actress singing where you would expect to see the artist singing it. If done properly, it will look very convincing and creative!

4) I would have done the same as you want to do, and go with the same actress for the relationship and the artist, because like you said, it will look like the artist is showing people the experience she has had with her boyfriend, and has created the song to express this situation.
