“I can't read a newspaper article, listen to a news report, read a book or a magazine, have a conversation........none of that, without thinking, "Whose perception is that, through what lens is that information filtered, how do you know, why is that your position?" and on and on and on. It's driving my husband crazy!!! I will never again be able to simply accept something out of hand without critically examining it and reflecting on it. That's a huge change for me, and one I really needed… I'd never even really thought much about social justice in my classroom, school, and community before. Things just were what they were...
