Active Healthy Minds: A countywide partnership between

Public Health and schools that uses physical activity to address mental wellbeing in secondary schools.

What the students love about PE and Wellbeing @ Manor (based on qualitative & quantitative research

conducted January 2016):92% of year 7 and 8 students have said they enjoy taking

part in PE and Wellbeing.Within PE they enjoy linking values (empathy, resilience, integrity) to later life as it makes them think about their

futures.Within Positive Education they enjoy Chimp Management, discussing values in relation to life issues (crime, terrorism, poverty, politics) and in particular ‘Mindfulness Meditation’

(completed at the start of each lesson – Prof Mark Williams).What does the data say? Does it work?
