A simple experiment to prove erosion of stones by acids

which may be due to acid rains as well.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

Lemon

Leaves

A piece of wood

A piece of lime stone

Place the leaf on wood and add few drops of lemon on it.

Observe it carefully the lemon drops just spread there and when they are on wood they are the same

Next place the leaf on lime stone and add few drops of lemon on it.

Observe it carefully. The lemon drops just spread there and when they are

on the stone there is white erosion on the stone indicating acids can erode

lime stones and the houses built with it. A warning for acid rain.
