DEBT HELP PLEASE? Bankruptcy is a good idea or no?

Myself and my husband have been with a debt management company for the last 2 annd a half years, however our creditors are only adding charges so we now actually owe more!! We are so stuck and behind on our payments its getting out of hand, so we've been advised to look into bankruptcy? Anyone have any information on this or any advice or and links to read? Thanks alot
