Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas were Lithuanian pilots, emigrants to the United States, who made a significant flight in the history of world aviation.

In 1933, July 15, at 6.24 pilots took off from New York's Floyd Bennett Airport.

This flight is significant that the airplane remained in the air 37 hours and 11 minutes, 6411 kilometers.

This was the second result of a non-stop flight in the world.

After successfully flying 6,411 km, it crashed, due to undetermined circumstances, 650 km from its destination,Kaunas, Lithuania.
