WHITE RIVER WILDLIFE AREADon't Forget To Display Your Parking Permit The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife welcomes

wildlife oriented educational and recreational use of properties it administers and asks your cooperation in maintaining the lands in an attractive and productive

condition. The White River Wildlife Area was initiated in 1953. The

primary objective is to provide Blacktailed deer and Rocky Mountain elk winter ranges and reduce crop

damage to adjacent private lands.A total of 30,000 acres have been acquired by fee titleand agreement. Private and U.S.F.S. lands are inter-mingled with state lands. You are welcome to use thestate-controlled properties for authorized activities, butyou must secure the permission of private land owners

before hunting or recreating on those private lands. On wildlife area lands, roads open year-round to vehiculartravel are shown in green. Seasonal roads open April 1to November 30 use the green dot road system and are

shown in red. ATV/OHV and snowmobiles are prohibited on all area lands except for administrative use or by

permit. All other roads are closed, and cross-country travel is prohibited. The area is patrolled, and citations issued for violations. All Wildlife Area lands, south of

Forest Road 27, are open year round to foot, horseback and mountain bike traffic.

Although the primary objective of the area is to benefitthe wildlife resource, excellent opportunities exist forrecreational pursuits. We wish you a most pleasant

outing and hope you enjoy the White River Wildlife Area.
