We maintain an on-site, NIST traceable Metrology Laboratory thatprovides comparison temperature calibrations from -112 °F to 1112 °F (-80 °C to 600 °C) on the InternationalTemperature Scale (ITS-90). Relativecalibrations at the boiling point of liquid nitrogen are also performed.The Laboratory is fully equipped withfluidized baths and tube furnaces,standard platinum resistance thermometers, and thermocouples.Time response testing is in full compliance with ASTM E-644.

Weed Instrument sanitary RTDs,thermocouples, thermowells andtemperature transmitters have beendesigned to meet the environmentaland performance requirements ofpharmaceutical and biotech process-ing and sterilization applications.Most sensors feature enhanced per-formance specifications and 316Lstainless steel materials and can beelectropolished to a Ra of 0.2microns (8 microinches). Also, per-manently etched tagging informationand calibration certificates can beprovided.

A line of patented temperaturesensors that can be removed forrecalibration or replacement, withoutinterrupting the process, is alsoavailable.

Thermowells can be specified asweld-in or clamp style, with all 316Lstainless materials and electropol-ished finishes. Weld-in thermowellscan be supplied with material certifica-tions and permanently marked “heatnumbers”.

Weed Instrument manufactures a wideselection of RTDs for Autoclave steril-izer applications in the pharmaceutical,biotechnology and medical industries.These RTDs eliminate all of the prob-lems associated with standard probeswhere the pressure and vacuumcycling of autoclaves forces moistureinside the probe, resulting in incorrect,low temperature readings and reducedlife.

Our Autoclave RTDs are completelysealed. As a result, the entire sensorassembly of the Weed InstrumentAutoclave RTD, including the probeand cables extending from the RTD,can be completely submerged in waterwithout affecting accuracy or long-termstability.
