Instruction Notes:TheexhausthangersareremovedandreinstalledfortheDiamondHitchinstallation. Some drilling and trimming is required.

Placeallcomponentsthatareremovedonaflat,sturdysurface.AllitemswillbereinstalledunlessotherwisenotedaftertheDiamondHitchisinstalled.

Thedimensionalvariationsbetweenotherwiseidenticalvehiclescanbeconsiderable.WhiletheDiamondHitchwasdesignedforeasyinstallation,itmaybenecessarytotailorthehitchslightlytocompensate for vehicle manufacturer’s tolerances.

Maintenance/Care•Periodicallycleananydirt/debrisfromtheballandballhousingandlubricatethemwithwhite

1. Usingthevehiclesjackhandletool,remove the spare tire as per vehicles owners manual.

2. On the passenger side heat shield, using a10MMsocket,removethetwo(2)boltsfromthefront(left).Thenusinga13MMsocket,removethetwo(2)rearbolts(right).

3. Usinga10MMsocket,removethetwo(2)boltsfromtherearexhausthanger.

4. Droptheexhaustbyslidingtherubberinsulators off the hanger studs.

Note:Usingsiliconesprayontheinsulators eases removal from hangers.

5. To assure not drilling the ball hole into the wrong location: On the underside of thebedmeasurefromtherearofthebed(notthetailgate)forward44”forshortandlongbedvehiclestoinsurethelocationoftheballisapproximately1”infrontofthe center line of the axle and check for Z-Bracket and frame clamp mounting clearances.

6. Ontheinsideofthebed,measurefromtherear(notthetailgate)forward44”forshortbedsandlongbedsandmark.Measure inside to of wheel wells and mark center. Pre-drill the mark with a 1/4” drill bitifdesired.Thenusinga4”holesaw,drillaholethruthebed.

Note:Usingaboardwhiledrillingdecreaseschancesofthebitwobblingoutof position.

7. Installtwo(2)1/2”-13x8-3/4”u-boltsaroundtheframe,onebehindtheyellowbumperandanotherinfrontofthebrakelinebracket.Dothisonbothsidesofthevehicle.

8. Slide the center section up over the exhaust and over the top of the passenger side frame rail.

9. Slidethedriversidez-bracketupoverthedriversideframerail.Aligntheballholeinthecrossmemberwiththeholeinthetruckbed.Theninstallloosely1/2-13x11/2”hexboltsfromthetopdowntothe1/2-13whiznuts.

10. AttachlooselytheLbrackettotheoutsideof the frame, use the 1/2-13 x 1 1/2” hexbolts,fromtheoutsidetotheinside,aligned with the middle of the slot, and 2 x2x1/4”squarespacerand1/2-13whiznuts.Dothistobothsidesofthevehicle.

11. SlidetheU-boltsoverthecatchandpullbackdown.Dothisonbothsides.

12. SlidethepinchbracketupontheinsidelegoftheU-boltsthenturninperpendicular to the frame. Do this on all four sides.

13. Insert61/4”tubesbetweentheplates.Install71/2”boltsthroughthebracketsandthetubesandfastenwith1/2-13hexnuts.

14. BolttheclampbracketundertheU-boltwith the slotted hole toward the center of the truck using 1/2-13 hex nuts.

15. Aftereverythingisinplace,applyLoctiteRedonalltheboltsandtorqueto75ft.lbs.StartwiththesixholdingtheZbracketfirst,gobackandforthfromsideto side.

16. ApplyLoctiteRedtotheU-boltsandtorqueto75ft.lbs.Dothistobothsidesof the vehicle.

17. OnthetopoftheLbracket,use1/2-13x11/2”hexbolts,1/2”flatwashersbelowandaboveand1/2-13jamnutswithLoctiteRedandtorqueto75ft.lbs.Dothisonbothsides.

18. Usingthecrosstubeasatemplate,drillfourholesupthroughthecrosstubeintothetruckbedforthebreakawaycabletiepoints,withthe1/2”drillbit.Dropthe7/16-14x6x21/2”U-boltsthroughtheholesinthebedandinstallthespringsand 7/16-14 lock nuts. Tighten the nuts until they are against the spring, compressing it slightly. Reinstall the heat shield.

19. Attachtheexhausthangerbracketwith1/4-20x1”hexboltsand1/4-20hexnut.Usetheexistingboltsintheothertwo holes. Reinstall the exhaust with the provided exhaust hangers.

Installing the Inverta Ball

2. Twisttheball30degreesclockwisewhileliftingslightlyuntilballdropsintopositionandlockingtabsnapsinplace.

1. Alignpin(seegreyarrow)withslotinhitch(seewhitearrow).Dropintoreceivercylinderanddepresslockingtab.

1. Pushinthelockingtabandthenliftandrotatetheballassemblycounterclockwise.Continuerotatingandliftinguntiltheballstud clears the receiver cylinder.
