The theme of the lesson: Past simple. Regular and irregular verbs

Aims of the lesson: To introduce and extend the past simple regular and irregular verbs. To develop pupils listening, speaking and reading. To stimulate pupils of interesting English.

The type of the lesson: traditional

Object of the lesson: a course book, new words, pictures, cards, black board

I. Organization moment:

- Stand up all together! Good afternoon pupils!

-Good afternoon teacher!

-Thank you, sit down!

II. To classify into groups: The sun and The sky.

III. Warm up:

Early in the morning

T: Who wants to read?

P: I want.

IV. Checking up the home task .

T: Okay, what was your home task for today?

P: To learn by heart the new words.

T: Who is ready for home task?

P: Im ready.

T: Very good (marking)

T: Okay pupils, what date is it today?

P: Today is 2nd of February.

T: What day is it today?

P: Today is Thursday.

T: Take your pens. Open your copybooks and write down todays date and theme.

V. The theme of the lesson: Past simple. Regular and irregular verbs.

T: Todays our theme is Past simple. Regular and irregular verbs.

What is Past Simple? What are Regular and Irregular verbs? (translating)

T: For regular verbs, we add -ed.

For irregular verbs, there is a special past tense form.regular verbs:play played, start - started, want wantedirregular verbs:come came, go went, take took.

T: And remember! If a regular verb ends in a consonant -y, this word change the -y to -ied

For example: study studied, cry / cried; try / tried; worry / worried

T: If a regular verb ends in -e add only d

For example: close closed, explode exploded, smile smiled.

T: However, a small number of irregular verbs dont change at all.

For example: hit hit, put put, cut cut, let let.

T: Okay pupils, today we have the new words.

VI. Physical exercise: If youre happy and you know it

T: Okay pupils, lets do some physical exercise! Stand up all together! (the music is turn on, all are dancing with teacher)

VII. Doing exercises.

T: Okay, now open your Pupils book at page 39. Look at the Exercise 4.
