Day 1 (3 Jan): Saigon Arrival (…)
You are welcome at the airport, transfer to Ho Chi Minh city, also called Saigon. This is the largest
city in Vietnam and is the nation's economic capital. The metropolitan area Hồ Chí Minh City and
surrounding towns is populated by more than 9 million.

Day 2 (4 Jan ): Saigon city tour (B/L)
We will take a full day city tour to visit the must to see places in the city including the
Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral. You will also admire the many beautiful French
colonial buildings such as the main post office and the former Hotel de Ville (city hall). After lunch,
we visit the Giac Lam pagoda before heading to the bustling Cho Lon Market (Chinatown). This trip
helps you view the city from another perspective and to see the abundance of fresh local produce
that is such an important feature of Vietnamese cuisine.

Day 3 (05 Jan ): Saigon - My Tho (cruise package by Jahan) (B/L/D)
"The Sea of Mangroves"
Bid farewell to the hustle and bustle of Saigon you will go to My Tho for embarkation. My Tho is
70km South of Saigon and located on the upper Mekong river in Vietnam. Enjoy a cocktail
reception at the Funnel Bar and Lounge followed by a Welcome Dinner on the Sun Deck. Drop
anchor just outside of My Tho for the night.

Day 4 (06 Jan ): Cai Be - Chau Doc (B/L/D)
"Vietnamese inventiveness"
Starts with the Jahan Cruise among local sampans coming from all provinces of the delta full of
fruits and vegetables. Proceed to Dong Hoa Hiep island located between Vinh Long and Cai Be.
During a 40 minute cruise, discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical
Mekong Delta rural life. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to
many people. Further stops will allow you to see traditional brick and tile factories and how locals

use palm leaves for houses. After touring the canals, head to the Ba Duc ancient house to have
know the descendants of the former imperial residents. Then you will observe the Cai Be’s color ful
floating market from Caibe Princess boat.
Back on the sampans, cruise 20 minutes further to Phu An hamlet passing by Cai Be’s beautiful
cathedral. Then, group 1 can stay on boat to go straight to the restaurant while group 2 explores
the edges of the canals on bicycle. Lunch will await you at Le Longanier, a superb Indochinese villa
located in a lush tropical garden by the river, surrounded by fruit orchards. After lunch the cruise
will continue with the visit some interesting home factories to see how rice paste, rice cookies and
coconut candies, are made, along with the longan fruit drying process.

Day 5 (07 Jan ): Chau Doc - border crossing (B/L/D)
"Taste of aqua cultural life"
Welcome to the circus of fish. The early birds will be treated to Thai Chi lessons on the Sun Deck.
Brace yourself for a short excursion by trycicle in about 30 minutes. After that you will have a
short walk to visit the local market then go by coach to visit Lady Temple. She is the most famous
Lady who brings strong spirit to the local in their daily life. Go back to the quay, you will start a
boat excursion to the exciting floating villages and catfish farms witnessing masses of basa fish
being fed, hand in hand with a shore excursion to the village of the local Muslim Cham community.
By mid-afternoon, The Jahan casts off for the border towards Phnom Penh.

Day 6 (08 Jan ): Phnom Penh (B/L/D)
"Pearl of the East"
Off we go early in the morning to witness a truly indescribable scene while approaching Phnom
Penh’s river promenade. After breakfast, embark on a city tour in this dynamic, historical capital of
Cambodia which has retained its French colonial charm. Sightseeing in the morning will include the
dazzling white and gold architecture of the Royal Palace, outstanding displays of Khmer crafts at
the National Museum and the temple on a hill - Wat Phnom. After lunch in a local restaurant,
examine the painful, heart wrenching reminders of Cambodia’s ugly past under the Khmer Rouge
regime with an excursion to the Genocide museum to learn more about the Cambodian civil war.
Introduction and onsite lecture by a local history professor.
Thereafter, to ease the nerves a variety of cocktails will be at your disposal, followed by
Cambodia’s traditional Apsara dance performance. Experience the brilliance and richness of the
culture, the soothing sounds of traditional music, the calming scent of incense sticks and a
delicious Khmer food buffet on the Jahan Cruise.

Day 7 (9 Jan ): Phnom Penh - Kampong Cham (B/L/D)
"Monks and hilltops"
Depart before the break of dawn from Phnom Penh with a stop at the little known Chong Koh silk
weaving village for a leisure walk. We cruise past the Mekong’s tranquil villages and mind blowing
river life with scores of fishermen on duty.
Visit Wat Nokor, a wat built within the ruins of an ancient temple that holds a timeless story. Then,
travel to the Cheung Kok Ecotourism Village, a small village developed with support from
Assistance Médiation Internationale (AMICA). Travelers can visit the village and take part in
activities to experience village life. Profits from tourism go towards re-investment into long-term
projects.

Day 8 (10 Jan ): Kampong Cham - Wat Hanchey (B/L/D)
"Cambodia's province and the wetlands"
Wake up in the wee hours of the morning, truly energized to embark on a journey upriver to the
pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Hanchey. Located at the top of a hill overlooking the river, it offers
some of the best views in Cambodia. Dating from the 8th century, these ancient structures do
justice to the architecture of the Chenla Empire which predated the glories of the mighty Angkor.
Enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding well organized rice paddy plains, as well as a travelers
blessing performed by the local monks.

Day 9 (11 Jan ): Kampong Cham - Kampong Chhnang - Tonle Sap (B/L/D)
"Waterworld"
Before the sun rises, The Jahan sets sail to Kampong Chhnang via Prek K’dam along the
meandering Tonle Sap River, which narrows through leafy swaths of the South East Asian jungle.
Take a walk through Kampong Louang, one of the last silversmith villages, to see the entire
community involved in making various silver items to sell. Get back aboard The Jahan to eat lunch
while cruising towards Kampong Chhnang.
After lunch, take a motorboat excursion from Kampong Chhnang to see the wetlands, floating
houses and fish farms in the region. Make a stop at a Heritage Line sponsored floating school to
interact with the children and teach them some English! This is the day to truly experience rural
Khmer life. In the evening, a mouth watering Farewell Dinner will be served on the Jahan Cruise's
Sun Deck.

Day 10 (12 Jan ): Tonle Sap - Siem Reap (B/L)
"Angkor Awaits"
This great lake dominates Cambodia and is over 150 km in length. The birdlife is profuse and from
the middle of the lake one cannot even see the shores. Witness stillness and tranquility on the way
to Siem Reap. The water level varies a great deal according to the time of the year and the
amount of rainfall recorded. Thus, changes may occur for the different seasons.
High Water Program (approx. between July and December)
Cross the Tonle Sap Lake at dawn and 11:00 disembark at Siem Reap Port for onward coach
transfer to the hotel by 12:00 pm
Low Water Program (approx. between December and June)
The Jahan Cruises early morning to Prek K’dam where you will disembark The Jahan after
breakfast. Board a coach at 9:00am which will take you to see a pre-Angorian temple on your way
to Siem Reap. A packed lunch and refreshments will be available along the way. Arrive in Siem
Reap early afternoon. Pickup and transfer to the hotel. Free for personal activities.

Day 16 (18 Jan ): Lao Cai - Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B/L)
Pickup at station, transfer to Sapa. Breakfast at the hotel. Then we transfer down to the south east
of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. A 2km-
trekking down to Lao Chai village, through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay
minority people. If lucky enough, you will have chance to see endless ripening paddy fields on
continuous terraces. Lunch at a local family, it gives you a worth chance for you to learn about the
local house architecture which is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the
landscapes on the way and get back to Sapa.

Day 17 (19 Jan ): Sapa – Cat Cat – Sin Chai - Bac Ha (B/D)
We take a walk down to the South-west of Sapa (around 4 km) to visit Cat Cat village of the Black
H’mong. Relax at the food of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power
station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy picnic lunch
by the side of the river, and then next 6 km to Sin Chai, the village located at the foot of Fansipan
Mountain, “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here you can enjoy huge stunning
landscapes before climbing up on the way back to Sapa.
Free till transfer time for transfer to Bac Ha (110kms) in the afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel in Bac Ha.
Day 18 (20 Jan): Bac Ha – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B/L/D)
A walk to BacHa market. Visit one village and an old building called The H'mong king's house.
Breakfast and the beginning of the day on which you visit a big market filled with many different
hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colourful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have
chance to enjoy BacHa people's simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice,
cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches... talking to the
minorities through the guide's interpretation. Leave the market for the H'mong King's house (King
Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return the town for lunch.
In the afternoon, say good bye to BacHa and drive to Trung Do village where the Tay ethnic
minority people live, You will have chance to do another hour walk to enjoy the landscape and get
to know the local lives here, After this village is about 1 hour on boat along beautiful Chay
river. On the way back Lao Cai, drop in to see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbor Mouth in
LaoCai.
Arrive Lao Cai, checkin small hotel for refreshment and dinner before time for night train to Hanoi.

Day 19 (21 Jan ): Hanoi – Hoian (B)
Pickup at the station. You are transfered to the airport for flight to Danang for Hoian.

Day 20 (22 Jan ): Hoian – Cycling Tour (B/L)
The 'Traditional Cam Nam & Hoi An's Scenery Tour' is the most popular bicycle tour for tourist like
biking during the time in Hoian. It is a combination of two different tours: Traditional Cam Nam
and Hoi An's Scenery Tour. During this various tour, our guide will take you to the most beautiful
places on Cam Nam Island and the rural area north of Hoi An. Brief information about the
culture, traditions, the daily life and other interesting information of local people here.
On Cam Nam Island you can see small handicrafts, such as: steaming of rice paper, repairing of
fishing nets, cooking of corn and more. We will take you to a local shipyard on An Hoi where
wooden fishing boats are still being made in the traditional way by local craftsmen. After this we
will visit the picturesque Long Tuyen Pagoda. The only pagoda in Vietnam with a nine-floor
'Lotus' tower on the roof.
This tour ends with a peaceful cycling-tour through the countryside of Hoi An. We are cycling along
the bright green rice fields, shrimp farms and fishponds. You will see water buffalo's, endless
prospects and colorful sceneries...
Day 21 – 23 (23 - 25 Jan ): Hoian – Free and easy in Hoian (B)

Free and easy till pickup at 15:00 for transfer to airport for flight to Saigon. Transfer to the hotel in
